Meet Captain Nick
Nick has always had a passion for the water and exploring what nature has to offer. Growing up in Southern California, his early years were spent at the Channel Islands chasing Calico Bass and Yellowtail in the pristine and expansive kelp forests.
He later went on to compete in fishing tournaments, making several appearances on Fox Sports West, and representing companies and their products as a pro staffer. Nick competed in W.E.S.T – Western Elite Saltwater Tournaments, and holds the record for weighing the biggest fish in the tournament series history.
Nick decided to make a career on the water, and began working as an outboard technician. After receiving his Captains license, he worked at a yacht brokerage where he delivered boats to customers.
In search of new waters, Nick moved to Florida and fell in love with the 10,000 Islands and started Island Excursions LLC to share this captivating area with those seeking to get out on the water. From bending on fish, to searching for rare shells, Captain Nick looks forward to inviting you on an Island Excursion.
Explore the islands safely and comfortably in our 25′ Carolina Skiff. She is equipped with large Yeti coolers, comfortable seating, a t-top to provide shade, and all new safety equipment. The boat is powered by a brand new 2022 four stroke Suzuki outboard for a safe and smooth ride.
At Island Excursions, we believe taking friends and family out into nature to relax and enjoy the beauty of our world is essential to the human experience.
Located in Marco Island, Florida we offer a variety of family-friendly tours of the 10,000 islands including shelling, eco dolphin, and fishing charters.

“It was our first time vacationing down in the area, and I am honestly so glad we found Captain Nick's tours! He was accommodating in helping us get scheduled in, and it was more than worth it! It's such a beautiful place and you get to explore islands full of gorgeous shells (yes you want to take them all with you!), plus some cool hidden gems of mangroves, etc. We even had the pleasure of dolphins coming up close to the boat! Honestly, it was amazing. Captain Nick is very professional and extremely knowledgable about the wildlife, the area, and can basically name every shell. He's very good at what he does and I can't wait for us to come back again and do another tour!”Julia M.Amazing trip, absolutely a must do!
